The Boston Marathon Bombings

I just finished watching the movie, Patriot's Day. It's a movie about the Boston Marathon bombings, directed & starring Mark Wahlberg. First off, I watch almost all movies taking place or about Boston & I also love Mark Wahlberg. With this movie, I could remember certain events from it in my memory, a lot of what happened afterward though, I don't recall at all. I decided to google about it & found lots of stories & videos. When tragedy happens in our world it sometimes greatly affects. I feel deep empathy with people, so much so it hurts my heart. Whether I am overly sensitive or what, situations can bring me to tears when I don't even know the people involved. It also makes me angry that there are such terrible people in our world & nothing ever seems to change. I am forever saying, "The whole world is f**ked!" One of the reasons so many things I hashtag #worldgonewrong. I am not very religious but it all makes me wonder, just what the hell is going on?
Anyway, I am sharing some of the things I found today while surfing the internet about this dark day in history.

"On April 15, 2013, two bombs went off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three spectators and wounding more than 260 other people. Four days later, after an intense manhunt that shut down the Boston area, police captured one of the bombing suspects, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, whose older brother and fellow suspect, 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, died following a shootout with law enforcement earlier that same day."

Once you turn at this corner, it is the final leg of the run.

Just minutes after Lelisa Desisa, of Ethiopia, crossed the finish line, the first bomb went off.

Also from the cnn.com:
On April 15, 2013, double bombings near the finish line of the Boston Marathon killed three people & injured at least 264.

The victims were Martin Richard, 8 a student in Bosotn; Krystle Campbell, 29 of Medford, Mass. & Lingzi Lu, a young graduate student at Boston U, originally from China.

Another senseless tragedy in this crazy world. There seem to be so many people who are misguided & live in fear & hate of everyone else. When will it all stop? Can we ever expect it to? My heart goes out to all the families affected by this & to the city of Boston.

Here are a couple video links to 2 people who were there on that fateful day.

The Man in the Cowboy Hat
Personal tragedy brought Carlos Arredondo, "the man in the cowboy hat," to the finish line that day, but his spontaneous act of heroism helped save a life & change the course of the investigation into the attack.

Bill's Story
Knocked down by the first blast, 78-year-old Bill Iffrig & his orange running jersey became an iconic image of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.
